Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday, and 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, both at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan. A parish vigil will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church.
Barbara was born on May 20, 1921 in Mandan, the daughter of Frank and Veronica (Beehler) Schaff. She was raised and educated in Mandan. On March 6, 1943, she was united in marriage to Anton Heck Jr. in Little Falls, Minn.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dale and Barb, Lula, Ga., Keith and Lisa, New Albany, Ind., and Rick, Bismarck; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Toni and Bob Adams, and Vickie and Bill Schmitz, all of Bozeman, Mont., Karla and Dave Reinhardt, Bismarck, Kim Heck, Mandan, and Sherry and Dave Tarpley, King, N.C.; 26 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Schaff, Tacoma, Wash.; two sisters, Eva Neff and Betty Diede, both of Bismarck; and a very special friend, Harry Feist, Bismarck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton, who died in 1993; her parents; one son, Robert; one grandson, Brian Heck; and six brothers and three sisters. (Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan)
