Richard “Rick” A. Heck, 62, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, December 2, 2016, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services with Deacon Terry Glatt officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Rick was born September 5, 1954, in Bismarck, to Anton and Barbara (Schaff) Heck. He was raised and educated in Mandan, where he graduated from high school in 1974. Rick was very proud earning his CDL and enjoyed driving truck for Conway and FedEx Freight. Rick loved gardening, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, and hanging out with his dog Lambeau.
He is survived by one son, Travis Heck, Gahanna, Ohio; two daughters, Tami (Michael Ballon) Heck, Columbus, Ohio; and Shawna Ricklefs, Fort Dodge, Iowa; seven siblings, Toni Adams, Dale Heck, Keith (Lisa) Heck, Vickie Schmitz, Karla (Dave) Reinhardt, Kim Heck, and Sherri (Dave) Tarpley; four grandchildren, Scott, Natasha, Zachery, and Deven Heck; one great-grandchild, Rylee Heck; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Wanda and Hailey Gottus.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Heck; and grandson, Joseph Wells.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to his daughter Tami Heck.
