Mrs. Maudie Franklin, 72, of Nebo, died Wednesday, September 28, 1966 in a Marion hospital.
Maude Pearl Barlowe Pearman Franklin was the only daughter of Julius P. and Tempie McClurd Barlowe. She had 8 brothers.
Maudie married Robert "Bob" Pearman on March 8, 1926 in Newland, Avery County, North Carolina. Maudie and Bob Pearman had 3 children, Irene, Robert and Lola May.
Maudie married Julius Parker "Parker" Franklin on October 29, 1954 in McDowell County, North Carolina.
Maudie was a dear, kind lady, and she had a smile for everyone she met. She was hearing impaired due to an early childhood illness, but she did not consider this as a handicap - and neither did any of her family. She was dearly loved by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Julius Parker Franklin; two daughters, Irene Pearman Davis, Lola May Pearman Crawley; one son, Robert J. Pearman; and several grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 1966, in Fairview Free Will Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
