Ernesto Castro - Walsenburg World – September 23, 1957 - Ernesto Castro Dies Suddenly In Salida Hospital -Ernesto Castro died in a Salida hospital suddenly late Friday. Mr. Castro was employed by the D&RG railroad.
He was injured about a year ago, although the injury did not seem serious at the time, he was unable to recover and a few days ago he was removed to the hospital.
Mr. Castro was born at Aguilar, March 15, 1908, the son of the late Desiderio and Bernice Castro.
Mr. Castro married Miss Della Duran on September 29, 1940, at Walsenburg. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Rose Ann, and two sons, Herman Gabriel and Ernest Jr. all of the family home; seven brothers, Epifanio of San Pablo, Silverio of Toltec, Fidel of Colorado Springs, Toby of Denver, Filiberto, Eleive and Ray of Walsenburg; three sisters, Mrs. Sophie Armenta and Mrs. Cora Gonzales of Pueblo, and Mrs. Stella La Fevre, of Denver.
Recitation of the Rosary will take place Wednesday at St. Mary's Church at 7:15 p.m. Another Rosary will follow at the Furphy chapel. The funeral will leave the mortuary Thursday at 8:30 a.m. Requiem High Mass at St. Mary's Church at 9 a.m. followed by interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
