She was a graduate of Cross High School, where she was a member of the Girl's Basketball Team. During one game, she landed a three-point, one-handed shot, thrown from center court, which helped win the game. As a result, Daisy was awarded the high school letter (a big golden "C" to adorn her high school sweater). Daisy was predeceased by her husband, Alexander "Alex" Hauser Lemacks, Jr, from Walterboro, SC. He is buried next to her in Live Oak Cemetery, Walterboro, SC. Also in the same family plot, are three of her six children who followed her in death: Francis "Frankie" Alexander Lemacks, Trudy Annette Lemacks and William "Bill" Charles Lemacks. At the time of her death, Daisy was survived by four sons, two daughters, three grandsons and four granddaughters, all from the Charleston, SC area.
