Agnes Loftus Bobeck, 87, of Sugar Notch, died Monday at Wesley Village. Born on August 29, 1919, in Archbald, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Agnes Fitzpatrick Loftus. Agnes earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition from Marywood University. She was commissioned a lieutenant of the Army and served as a dietician in the European Theater during World War II. A member of Holy Family Parish in Sugar Notch, Mrs. Bobeck was known for her sweet smile and upbeat, loving nature. Sisters Bessie Uglow and Eileen Curran preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph J. Bobeck, M.D.; children Andrea and her husband, Frank Watkins, of Ocean City, Maryland; Joseph Bobeck, of Pittston; John Bobeck, of Dallas; Camille and her husband, John Daniels, of Dorrance; James and his wife. Mary Frances Bobeck, of Plains; Henry and his wife, Joan Bobeck, of Hanover Township; and Ann and her husband, Scott Colburn, of Annapolis, Maryland; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister Mary Butler, of Wall, New Jersey. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday from M.J. McLaughlin Company, 142 S. Washington St,. Wilkes-Barre, with funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hanover Township.
