HOFFMAN – Mrs. Charlotte M., 102, South Fork R.D.1, died Oct. 27, 1972, at home. Born Oct. 8, 1870, in Stoneycreek Township, daughter of Jonathan and Susan (Pugh) Barkley. Death of husband, William B., in July 1965 ended marriage union of 67 years. Also preceded in death by daughters, Mrs. Pearl Houghton and Mrs. Stella Holland, and four sisters and four brothers. Survived by these children: Mrs. Elsie Smay, Coneumaugh; Diebert Hoffman, St. Michael; Mrs. Alice Box, Sidman R.D.1; and Mary, wife of Robert Trees, South Fork R.D.1, with whom she resided; also 14 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Sister of Mrs. Della Moose, Johnstown R.D.2. Member of Lake Union Evangelical Methodist Church, South Fork R.D.1. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Homer J. George Funeral Home, South Fork, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, the Rev. Melvin Thomas. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery.
