Jonathan Barkley
SALIX, April 4. - Jonathan Barkley, aged 82 years, a native of Somerset County, died at his home near Salix, in Richland Township, at noon yesterday. He was born near Jerome, the son of the late Alex and Polly (Grove) Barkley. Later he moved to Scalp Level where he lived for about six years before locating to Salix.
Surviving are the widow and the following children: Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mrs. Charlotte Hoffman, Mrs. Nora Weaver, all of Wilmore; A. E. Barkley, of Johnstown R.D.2, Richland Township; Mrs. Iva Stall, of Portage; Mrs. Della Moose, of Mineral Point, and Willis Barkley, at home. Twenty- eight grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services, will be conducted at the Maple Spring Church of the Brethern, near Jerome, Friday morning, the funeral party to leave the late residence at 8: 45 a.m. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Undertaker Howard Barefoot will be in charge.
