Lillian Frances Skaggs, 94, of Summersville, KY, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY. Daughter of the late Joseph Motley Gumm and Vera Regina Marshall Gumm, she was born in Green County on December 21, 1911. She was a member of Summersville Baptist Church, a homemaker and helped run James D. Skaggs Grocery. She was married to James D. Skaggs on November 20, 1948. He preceded her in death July 13, 1968. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mae Deline & Eddie Hays of Summersville; 2 grandchildren, James Bruce Hays & his wife, Vickie, of Fort Mitchell, KY, and Charles Anthony Hayes & his fiancé, Erika Davis, both of Greensburg; 2 great-grandchildren, Courtney Deline Hays of Fort Mitchell and Lori Barrett of Lexington, KY; a great-great-grandchild, Cassidy Neely of Lexington; 2 brothers, Larry "PeeWee" Gumm and Billy Gumm, both of Greensburg; and 2 sisters, Dorothy Chaudoin of Summersville and Martha Lee Overfelt of Indiana. Funeral was Friday, March 10 at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. The Rev. Mike Akridge and Joseph Wilcoxson officiated. Burial was in Greensburg Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bruce Hays, Dan McCubbins, Anthony Hays, Billy Wayne Price, Mike Gumm and Jeff Eastham.
