GREENSBURG RECORD HERALD OBITUARY – 1965 Funeral services for Mrs. Vara Marshall Gumm, 73, were held at the Foster-Jones Funeral Home, Sunday, February 28 [1965] at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. V.A. Jones and Rev. Eutra Hammett officiating. Mrs. Gumm, of 105 Durham Ct., died at 4:30 a.m. Friday, February 26 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital after a week's illness. She had lived in Green Co. all her life. Survivors are her husband J. Mott Gumm, Greensburg; 6 daughters: Mrs. James Skaggs, Mrs. Winton McCubbin and Mrs. Garland Chaudoin, all of Summersville; Mrs. Girtha Overfelt, Louisville; Mrs. Robert Hickerson, Modesto, CA, and Mrs. Bill Simmons, Louisville, 5 sons: Joe Mott and Harry S., both of Louisville; George, Campbellsville; Billy and Larry, both of Greensburg; 2 sisters: Mrs. Raymond Peterson, Cincinnati and Mrs. Clay Trusty, Louisville; a brother: Twyman Marshall, Greensburg; 28 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roy Gumm, Joe Rhea Gumm, Tommy Gumm, Danny McCubbin, Eddie Hayes and Wayne Scott. Burial was in the Gumm Family Cemetery.
