He had made a profession of faith in Christ. He was a retired master printer for Publishers Printing Company in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, a member of the Rod Lowe Post 124, and loved WKU Hilltoppers and the Cincinnati Reds.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Martha Laverne Walker Gumm of Greensburg, having united in marriage on August 5, 1951.
Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Billy Joe and Sheila Gumm of Greensburg; two daughters and a son-in-law: Debbie and Morgan McCullough of Greensburg and Tammy Gumm of Shepherdsville; six grandchildren: Neely Gumm, Joey Caven, Nathan McCullough and Ian McCullough all of Greensburg, Andy Gumm of Campbellsville, and Nash Gumm of Bowling Green; five great grandchildren: McKynzee Gumm of Campbellsville, Ezzy Caven, Antigonee Caven, Grace McCullough, and Elliot Caven all of Greensburg; one brother and sister-in-law: Larry "Pee Wee" and Jane Gumm of Greensburg; and a host of relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, Mr. Gumm was preceded in death by six sisters: Zola McCubbins, Martha Overfelt, Lillian Skaggs, Louise Simmons, Dorothy Chaudoin and Dena Hickerson; five brothers: George Gumm, Joe Mott Gumm, Paul Gumm, Harry Gumm and Charley Gumm.
The funeral services for Mr. William Douglas Gumm will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Gumm Cemetery with full Military Honors. Bro. Bobby Walker will be officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4 until 8 P.M., Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Tuesday until time of the funeral service.
