Alma Duggan Mathews, age 84, of Glenwood, died Monday, July 11, 2011.

She was born on September 21, 1926, at Lodi, the daughter of John Duggan and Iva Annie Echols Duggan. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Chester Duggan, David Duggan and Alfred Duggan; four sisters, Alta Hamil, Bonnie Pounds, Bobbie Cogburn and Lottie Love; and one daughter-in-law, Laura Christ.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing and reading, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Billy Ray Barnett of Susanville, California, Joann and Bill Monson of Red Bluff, California, Jay and Tina Barnett of Carthage, Texas, Linda and Jim Berlin of Susanville, California, Fonda and Wayne Betts, Charles Christ and Tammie and Ronald Jenkins, all of Glenwood; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard Harris and Brenda Duggan of Lodi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 14, 2011, in the Lodi Cemetery with Bro. Joe Cogburn officiating.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Love, Linsey Rogers, Rex Allen Duggan, Billy Jewel Cogburn, David Pounds and Roger Love.

Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of Glenwood Nursing and Rehab.
