H. Percy Andrews
H. Percy Andrews, 71, of 311 North Bennington Road, Bennington, died Wednesday at the Putnam Memorial Hospital.
A native of Bennington, he was born in 1902, the son of Calvin and Cora (Percey) Andrews, and he received his education in the local public schools.
He married the former Edith Johnson in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, and they had always resided on the North Bennington Road, where he operated a garage for many years. At the time of his death, he was a superintendent for the William E. Dailey Co. of Shaftsbury and Manchester.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by five sons, Harry Roger and John of Bennington, Leon of Shaftsbury, and LeRoy of Pownal; three daughters, Irene Andrews of Bennington, Barbara Jones of Shaftsbury, and Jean Mulvihill of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren, one great grandchild; and a brother Frank of Bennington.
The funeral will be Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Bennington, with the Rev. Kenneth W. Costin, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Shaftsbury.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Bennington Rescue Squad.
