Funeral services for Betty Jo Jones, 65, of Olney, were held Saturday, Oct. 29, at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Seymour with the Reverend Floyd Stevenson, pastor of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church; the Reverend Dave Autry, pastor of Rising Star Baptist Church; and the Reverend Bruce McPeters officiating.
Interment followed in the Old Seymour Cemetery with arrangements under direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones was bom Dec. 1, 1939, in Rotan to J.P., Sr., and Annie Mae (Thompson) Pierson. She died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 in Wichita Falls.
She married Willie Jones. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Jones had been a nurse's aid and was a homemaker. She was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother Annie Mae Pierson of Wichita Falls; a sister Betty Jean McMullin of Wichita Falls; a brother J.P. Pierson, Jr., and wife Joyce of Wichita Falls,; a stepdaughter Emma Jean Vanibuls of Rialto, Calif.; a step-granddaughter Paula Jean Vanibuls of Los Angeles, Calif; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and greatnephews.
She was preceded in death by her father J.P. Pierson, Sr.; and two sisters Jo Ann Pratt Grant and Betty Ann Jenkins.
