Happy Young Brides and Benedicts
On Wednesday morning at nine o'clock in the city of Elkton, Maryland, Miss Violet E. Salsbury, of 1125 Washington avenue, became the wife of Clarence S. Burns, of Bellwood. The happy young couple were joined in holy wedlock by Rev. John McElmoyle, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Elkton, the ceremony being performed at the manse. The newly-weds arrived home yesterday to receive hearty congratulations and best wishes of a large circle of friends.
The bride is the charming and accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Salsbury, of Washington avenue, and is quite capable of taking hold of and conducting a happy home. The groom holds a responsible position in the division engineer's office at Bellwood. Mr. and Mrs. Burns will reside in Tyrone.

CLARENCE BURNS
CONOVER--Clarence Burns died Thursday morning in an area hospital at age 79. Burns, who had been in ill health for some time, made his home on Second Avenue, SE, Conover.
Born Aug. 10, 1895, in Pennsylvania, he was a retired electrical engineer for Western Union.
Surviving are his wife, Eula Little Burns; a sister, Mrs. Marie Line of Altoona, Pa., and a grandson, Robert Burns of Orchard Park, N.Y.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover by Msgr. Eugene Livelsberger. Burial will be in Conover Cemetery.
The body will remain at the funeral home, where the family will be from 7 until 8:30 o'clock tonight.
Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by Conover Lodge 709.
