FRED BRUCE BURNS

Of Sinking Valley, died at 2 a.m. today in the Tyrone Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Roaring Spring Feb. 7, 1890, a son of Harry and Alice (Boyles) Burns, and on Nov. 11, 1919, in Ebensburg married Kathryn Sprankle. Surviving are his wife, nine children, Nathan of Bellwood, Harry and Charles of Akron, O., Mrs. Betty Rafferty and Mrs. Gwen Beirley of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Mrs. Gada Fink of Tyrone, Fred, David and Orris at home; 27 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a brother and sister, Clarence of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. George Line of Altoona. He was of the Baptist faith and retired in January 1960 from the McLanahan Stone Company, Hollidaysburg, after 25 years of service. Friends will be received at the Johson Mortuary, Bellwood, after 7 p.m. today.

BURNS--Services for Fred Bruce Burns of Sinking Valley, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Johnson Mortuary, Bellwood, by the Rev. Raymond Lucas. Interment in Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. Friends will be received at the mortuary after 7 p.m. today.
