Nevil Haywood, (NH) passed away February 4, 2011. He was born November 7, 1920, in Beckham, Texas 7 miles north of Sulphur Springs, Texas in a rural community called Birthright to Joseph Andrew Neal and Mittie Rebecca (Caffey) Neal. He was survived by his wife Aleen (Wells) Neal married 70 years September 21st, and four children, daughters and Son-in-Laws, Margaret and Jack Johnson, Shirley and Frank Taylor, Pamela Peterson, David Neal and wife Teresa Neal, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was the last one of 10 children. His sisters Ella Elizabeth Edmonson, Pauline Shrode, Gretchen Pearl Jones, and Josephine Crowson, brothers John Alfonzo Neal, Carl Neal, Alonzo Neal, Elvis Neal, and Joseph Durwood Neal all preceded him in death. He was a life time member of the Church of Christ and Elder for the DeSoto Church of Christ 1965 through 1977. He was a member of the Ovilla Church of Christ since 1998. He was often called Mr. Fix It. He was born knowing Engineering and could fix or repair most anything. He retired from AT&T, then known as Southwestern Bell Telephone Company on November 7, 1985, after 43 years and 4 months of service. His friends at AT&T called him Pappy Neal.
