Rena was born June 12, 1857, at Calais, Washington County, Maine, daughter of Ira and Martha Calkins, both natives of that state. She died in 1941, place unknown, and was buried next to the remains of her husband in Wayside Cemetery.

On March 13, 1875, Eliza was united in marriage to Henry D. Bartlett at the Methodist Church in Bloomer, Chippewa Co., Wis. Henry was born Dec. 31, 1842, at Patten, Penobscot County, Maine, son of J. W. and Lydia Bartlett natives of that state. He died Aug. 6, 1922, at Cameron, aged 79 years, 7 months and 5 days, and was buried in Wayside Cemetery. The "Bartlett" family headstone there is inscribed "Henry D. Bartlett 1842-1922" and "Rena E. 1856 - 1941." Their children of whom the first five were born in Wis., and the last two in South Dakota, were:

Obituary

Mrs. Rena Bartlett, daughter of Ira and Marguerite Calkins, was born at Patten, Maine, June 12, 1855 and passed away at Barron on September 9, 1941, at the age of 86 years, 3 months, 3 days.

She was united in marriage to Henry D. Bartlett of Patten, Me., March 13, 1875 at Bloomer, Wisconsin, by Rev. William Priddy, Methodist minister of Bloomer.

Seven children were born to this union, three of whom preceded her in death. Those living to mourn her loss are four sons: Herbert of Barron, Clinton of Cameron, Floyd of Mankato, Minn., and Earl of Rice Lake, also a stepdaughter, Mrs. Antone Collins of Aitkin, Minn. and 16 grandchildren.

She and her husband were early pioneers of Wisconsin, having lived in Chippewa County from 1875 to 1880 at which time they settled in Old Cameron. After the intersection of the two railroads, their home was established at the present site of Cameron. For a period of 12 years, from 1888, the family lived in Kingsbury county, S.D., later returning to Cameron where they resided until the death of her husband in 1922 at the age of 82 years.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Messrs and Mmes Floyd Bartlett and Philip Muelleriette and two sons, Mankato, Minn.; Clinton Bartlett and VErnon Bartlett, Cameron; Earl Bartlett, Rice Lake; Harry Bartlett, Exland; John Calkins, Chetek; Mrs. Mayme Rathbon, Chetek; Ira Calkins, Chetek; Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Bartlett, Cameron; Mrs. Ed Smith, New Auburn; Mrs. Ed Klund and son Kenneth, of Bloomer.

Services were conducted by the Reverend George Bell of the Methodist church at 2 o'clock Saturday September 13, at the Stebbins and Rausch funeral home.
