Charles Calkins Of Eureka Passes On
Charles Calkins, 72, of Eureka, died Wednesday at a hospital in that city where he was taken for medical treatment Tuesday. Calkins was born in Holton, Maine, April 5, 1864, and came to this state in 1891 and since that time has been employed as a woodsman. Surviving is a brother, J. W. Calkins of Eureka, another brother, Oscar Calkins of Yreka, and a sister, Mrs. Rena Bartlett of Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Funeral rites were held at the Cooper-Roche chapel this Friday afternoon with the Rev. H. N. McKee, pastor of the Christian church, officiating. Interment was in the Myrtle Grove cemetery.
