Olivia Acosta Lara was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico on May 2, 1946, to Juan and Elisa (Baiza) Acosta.
She was raised and educated in Carlsbad graduating from Carlsbad High Scool with the class of 1965.
Olivia enjoyed crocheting, collecting chilis and the company of her two Chihuahuas "Ginger and Rey." She loved spending time with her grandkids and enjoyed visiting with her many friends and neighbors.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and attended the San Jose Catholic Church.
Olivia was preceded in death by her husband Pablo Lara, daughter Terry Lara, both parents and brother Jose Acosta.
She is survived by her daughter, Petra Martinez; son, Larry Lara; sisters: Delia (Julio) Martinez and Eva Morales; brothers: Juan (Martha) Acosta, Adan Acosta and Danny Acosta, all of Carlsbad as well as 5 grandchildren, Jose and Paul Martinez of Carlsbad and Ruby, Anthony and Soraye Lara of Texas.
