John brought his family to the United States aboard the ship 'Daniche Mary,' which landed at the Port of New York on May 2, 1853. This voyage also brought other Bavarian Catholic families who settled in the Beaver Dam area, such as BAUER, SCHWEIGER, RUPPEL, DIETZ, KLEINDL, GOESCHEL, HAMMER, IMMERFALL and JOBST. This family, however, was listed thusly:

DIED - ROSENMEIER - At his home on South street, on Saturday, October 26, 1907, of old age and paralysis, Mr. John Rosenmeier, aged 87 years, 1 month and 12 days.

The deceased was born in Nittendorf, Regensburg, Germany, on September 14, 1820. He was married to Miss Theresa Hammer in Germany, and came to this country in 1853, coming direct to Wisconsin, and settling in the town of Westford. He afterwards moved to the town of Beaver Dam, where he lived on a farm near Shaw hill. He moved to this city about 16 years ago, and has made his home here since.

He is survived by two sons - Joseph and Sebastian Rosenmaier, of the town of Beaver Dam, and one daughter - Mrs. Frank Andorfer, of this city.

The funeral was held from St. Peter's church last Monday forenoon, and was attended by St. Peter's Benevolent society, of which the deceased was an honored member. Burial at St. Peter's cemetery.
