William G. Flessner, Chatsworth's oldest resident died at the Fairbury hospital, Fairbury, Monday, Mar. 13, following an illness of two months.

Flessner, a retired farmer, had observed his 100th birthday last July 10, at his home near Charlotte.

Visitation was after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Stewart Funeral Home, Cullom, until the hour of funeral services.

His funeral was to be at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at St. Paul's Lutheran church, Chatsworth, with Rev. Wilbert Burmeister officiating. Burial was to be in the Chatsworth cemetery.

He was born at Ostfriesland, Germany, July 10, 1866, a son of George and Antje Klover Flessner. He married Ollie Voss February 27, 1894, at Forrest. she died May 24, 1955.

Surviving are four sons, William J., Leslie, Clifford, all of Cullom; and Lowell, Chatsworth; five daughters, Miss Ina, at home; Miss Mabel, Park Ridge; Mrs. Lester (Millie) Attig, Mrs. J.G. (Iva) Dehm, Mrs. Glen (Olive) Ehlers, all of Cullom; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a great-grandchild, seven brothers and two sisters.

He came to the Charlotte-Chatsworth community at the age of 18 months and lived the rest of his life in this community and on the same farm for the past 73 years. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.
