Alexander Petro
Alexander Petro, 98, a native of Brown County, died Monday, March 18, at Sharp’s Nursing Home in Columbus. He has been in poor health for three years. He was born in Brown County February 20, 1865, to Joseph and Jemima Petro. He married Gladys Turnmire in 1921. She passed away in 1941.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at Bond’s Funeral Home. The Reverend Edward Simon will officiate. Burial will be in Henderson Cemetery.
Surviving are four sons: Cecil, of Columbus; Bryan, Washington State; Leonard and Ivory, of Indianapolis; one daughter, Mrs. Valentia Campbell, Route 4, Nashville; two sisters, Mrs. Pattie Bohall, Bloomington, and Mrs. Elsie Miller, Stone’s Crossing; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
