Brown County native Ivan Petro, 60, Indianapolis, died January 8, 1987, at Community Hospital in Indianapolis. Born January 29, 1926, he was the son of Alexander and Gladys Turnmire Petro. He had owned Petro Tree Service for 38 years.
Survivors include five sons, Robert J., Michael D., Ronald R., Richard A., and Mark A. Petro; a daughter, Diana L. Purcell; a step-daughter, Nancy Jill Ann Freed; a sister, Valentina Campbell; and 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara C. Petro.
A funeral service was held Monday at the Shirley Brothers East Chapel. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
