He was born in Kaysville, Feb. 8, 1893, the son of Amos H. Bishop and Lucy Belle Smith. He spent his early life in Kaysville where he attended schools there and attended the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City.
He served a mission for the LDS church in Great Britain from 1913 to 1915. Mr. Bishop entered the military service in 1917 and while in the service married Jessie Beazer June 26, 1918, at the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Following his marriage he was sent overseas and saw service in France until the end of World War I.
He then came to Idaho Falls in 1919 where he was employed by a cousin as an auditor in the W. A. Bishop Co.
In 1922 he went to work for the Hart-Ellsworth Co., which later became the Smith-Hart Co. In 1932 he became manager of the Smith-Hart agency in Rigby, and later the name was changed to the Bishop Chevrolet Agency, when he purchased it.
He was very active in LDS activities. He served 11 years in the bishopric of the second and 11th wards. Since his release as bishop he has been serving in the Stake high priest quorum presidency.
He is survived in addition to his widow by the following sons: Lowell, Stanley and Don all of Idaho Falls; Weston of Salt Lake City and Vernon of Roy, Utah. One son proceded him to death.
The following sisters and brothers survive: Mrs. Ivy Harvey, Kaysville; Hazel Bishop of Kaysville and Lloyd Bishop of Kaysville and Clyde Bishop of Sacramento, Calif., and also 12 grandchildren.
