CLARKSVILLE - Adell Smith, 89, of Clarksville died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at First Baptist Church of Clarksville with the Rev. Mark Gossett and the Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial follows in Lanes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family receives friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 6, 1918, the daughter of Matthew and Annie Ritchey Nunn. She was a member of First Baptist Church, a homemaker, loved gardening and all of her family.

She was preceded in death by five sisters; one brother; her first husband, Lennox Brown; two daughters, Dorothy Dee Brantley and Lois Dean Pemberton and three grandchildren, Danita Mauldin Ross, Johnny Lee Mauldin and Susan Lynn Rushing.

Survivors include her husband, who she married March 16, 1974, Kenneth "K.V." Smith of Clarksville; two daughters, Betty Mauldin and husband, Jimmy, of Avery, Mary Travillion and husband, Gilbert, of Clarksville; two sisters, Wanza Graham of Lorain and Myrtle Melton of Freeona; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gary Travillion, Charles and Roger Rushing, Jim Mauldin, Daniel Nix and Wendell Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be George Mac Giddens, Billy Sam Allen, Gerald Robertson, Jerry Luther, Loren Belew, Johnny, Jerry, Jamie and Michael Smith.
