John W. Snyder, Panhandle Pioneer, Dies in Lane

John Wesley Snyder, 84, who had lived in North Idaho about 80 years, died this morning at his home in Lane.
Mr. Snyder, who was born in Pendleton, Ore., Dec. 15, 1873, moved with his parents as a small boy to the Coeur d'Alenes, living first at Murray and then in Burke and Wallace.
As a young man he went to the Medimont area where he spent the remainder of his life as a trapper, woodsman and farmer. He had lived on the one farm more than 40 years.
He was married in 1908 to Miss Lillian Lind in Salt Lake City. She died May 15, 1950.
He is survived by four sons, Warrant Officer John Snyder, with the Air Force at Amarillo, Texas, Ralph and Frank in Coeur d'Alene and Darrel in Portland and one daughter.
Funeral Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from YATES-MORSE FUNERAL HOME, the Rev. R. L. Muller officiating. Interment in Forest cemetery.
