JOSEPH BENNER FUNERAL HELD AT KNOX CITY
Knox City, Mo., Sept. 22.—The funeral of Joseph Benner, who died Sunday, was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the .Assembly of God church in Knox City. The service was in charge of the Rev Lawrence Spratt, pastor of the church here.
Joseph Porter Benner was born in Knox county, February 26, 1863/ He was a son of Joseph and Louisa Sullivan Benner. He was married to Flora Paltz [sic], September 15, 1889, and six children were born. One daughter. Annie, died when about 2 years old. Those living are: Mrs. Delia Class, of Gorin; Floyd Benner of Lewistown; Mrs. Ruth Vandolah of Fulton; Mrs. Lena Tucker and Mrs. Nelle Hoisington, both of Chillicothe, Ill. In June, 1909, he was married to Miss Flossie Wilson. There were two children born to them, Mrs. Irene Gardner of Hurdland, and J. C. Benner at home. He also leaves his widow; eighteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Chris Benner of near Knox City, and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Lewis, Mrs. Rosa McMillen and Mrs. Lula Schempp, all of near Knox City.
He was a member of the Assembly ol God church.
