Alex was the son of Sebastian Baer and Anna Schilling. On Nov. 9 1908, he married Mary Eva Ochs, the daughter of Franz Ochs and Catherine Maffenbier. Mary was his step-sister. Alex was the janitor at St. Mary's Church and school in Aberdeen for 25 years. Mary lived to be 100 years old.
