Anna was the daughter of Sebastian Baer and Anna Schilling. She was born in Karlsruhe, Russia, which is now a part of the Ukraine. on Jan. 6, 1894, she married Wednelin Dosch, the son of Johannes Dosch and Katharina Faith. She died two days after giving birth to her sixth child Catherine, who died shortly after birth. Anna's older sister, Magdalena told the story that Wendelin went out and cried for hours after her death.
