THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, December 19, 1901, page 7, column 2. "Local News - A telegram has been received by Miss Mayme Mead, of the death of J. P. Hesson, Colorado Springs, Colorado, death caused by diphtheria. Mr. Hesson was well known around here and also in and around Nevada and McCallsburg. We are informed that the remain will me shipped to Nevada for interment. The bereaved family has the sympathy of a host of friends."
