Wayne D. Olson services are scheduled Wednesday
Millville – The funeral for Wayne D. Olson is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace United Church of Christ in Millville, with the Rev. Everett Schoessler officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in rural Millville, with military graveside honors accorded by the Millville Valley American Legion post.
Mr. Olson, 44, of Millville, a senior wirer in manufacturing at IBM-Rochester, died Sunday at Olmsted Community Hospital in Rochester after a three-week illness.
He was born Oct. 23, 1938, in Rochester and served in the Army from 1960 to 1963. He joined IBM-Rochester in August of 1966, and was a senior wirer in manufacturing at the time of his death. On Aug. 20, 1970, he married Karen Busitzsy, and she survives.
Mr. Olson served as financial officer of the Millville Valley American Legion Post 579 for many years.
Survivors also include three daughters, Pamela of Bartow, Fla., and Geraldine and Dawn, both at home; a son, Ronald at home; his father, Bert Olson of Plainview; two sisters, Mrs. Gordon (Marian) Spradin of Sandpoint, Idaho, and Marilyn Olson of Plainview; and four brothers, Robert, Howard and Franklin, all of Plainview, and Everette of Cape may, N.J. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Schleicher Funeral Home in Millville from 3 p.m. today and at church one hour before the service Wednesday.
