BERT OLSON
Bert E. Olson, 88, of Plainview died Saturday, Feb 27, at River Oaks Healthcare Center in Lake City where he had been a resident for the past two weeks. He was born Sept. 13, 1899 in rural Plainview to Albert and Jennie (Polson) Olson. He and Vida Nelson were married Dec. 19, 1919 in Plainview. She died Jan. 10, 1949. Mr. Olson farmed his entire life in rural Plainview. He was an agent for 20 years for the Federal Crop Insurance Co. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Millville and for many years was a member of the Zumbro Valley Sportsmen's Club. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Marion) Spradlin of Sandpoint, Idaho, and Marilyn Olson of Plainview; four sons, Robert, Howard, and Franklin, all of Plainview, and Everette of Belle Center, Ohio; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three sons, one daughter, two grandchildren and two sisters. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace United Church of Christ in Millville with Rev. Everett Schoessler officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, rural Millville. Friends may call at the Schleicher Funeral Home in Millville from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and one hour before services at the church Wednesday. Pallbearers are grandsons, David, Donald, Franklin, Jr., Richard, John and Ronald Olson.
