He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph in 1997, two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are one son, James, three brothers, Bradley, Robert and Lawrence "Bus", two sisters, Mrs. Don (Ellen) Snyder and Mrs. Edmund (Jenny) Hill, and two grandchildren.

He was a machinist at Caterpillar Inc. for 32 years, retiring in 1974.
