She was born Aug. 17, 1920, in Kennett, the daughter of Henry William and Lavadie Mae Hoxworth Abernathy. She married Julius C. Carver on Aug. 31, 1946, in Piggott, Ark. He died Aug. 2, 1994.
She was a homemaker and member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Marble Hill and the Eastern Star chapter in Zalma.
Survivors include two brothers, Leroy and Bob Abernathy; and five sisters, Maudie Denton, Fern Thomas, Tinia Clark, Violet Farmer and Pretshie Ellsworth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Burial will be in the New Morley Cemetery in Morley.
