Fred Geye married Carrie E. Johnson on 08/20/1911 in Carlton.


Fred Geye was a mail carrier and died from complications of a broken thigh bone caused by an accident with a light truck pulling a trailer full of cattle.

Services for Fred Geye, prominent citizen of the Carlton community were held in the Carlton Church of Christ.


He was born near Lamkin and married to Carrie Johnson in Carlton. To this union were born five children, with one dying in infancy.


Mr. Geye was a charter member of the Church of Christ where he served and faithfully attended. An outstanding characteristic of Mr. Geye's life was his staunch and exemplary Christian life and his loyalty and devotion to his family.


He had lived in the Carlton Community since 1909, most of the early years were spent as a rural mail carrier. He had been in declining health since 1954.


He is survived by his wife; two sons, Raymond and Noland Geye; two daughters - Mrs. Paul Warren and Mrs. Ruth Self; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
