JANE HUNSAKER TUCKER, 89, passed away on Valentine Day February 14, 2006.

She is survived by Jeffrey D. Tucker, Thomas E. Tucker and wife Nancy, Richard R. Tucker and wife Laura, three grandchildren, Thomas A. Tucker, Taylor Jane Tucker, and Richard Hayden Tucker, her sister Joan Brown, many nieces and nephews, and her best friend of 25 years , Sue Pearson.

Jane Hunsaker Tucker was born on April 7, 1916 in Judsonia Arkansas, one of seven brothers and sisters, to Harry & Julia Hunsaker.

The Hunsaker family moved to Houston in 1932. She met her husband, Jeff Tucker and the two were married in October of 1936 where here she lived the rest of her life as a proud Houstonian.

Jane's passion in life was her love of family and friends. She was a devoted mother to her "three boys" and their families as well as the matriarch to her beloved Hunsaker family.

Jane graduated from the Houston Business College in 1936 and began a career as an administrative assistant for the H. J. Porter family in the oil & gas business that scanned 3 decades. She retired from business to raise her family after the birth of her children. She exhibited great endurance and independence in life while returning to the work force after Jeff's death and 34 years of marriage until her retirement at age 70.

She was very active in her social endeavors at the garden club, poker and bunco groups until her death. She loved the camaraderie associated with sporting events, games of chance and a good old party with friends. She loved to cook for her family and friends because she knew it gave her bonding time with the people she loved. She was known to be a bit competitive in this area of her life and always seemed to have something up her sleeve. The annual Hunsaker reunion in Rockport was a highlight of her year because she got to experience all of her passions in life in one great weekend.

A special thanks to the staff at the Forum and Odyssey Hospice for their care and compassion as they too experienced Jane's enduring spirit during her final days of earthly life. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six until eight o'clock in the evening on Friday, the 17th of February 2006 in the Library of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. Following a private graveside service a memorial service will be conducted at half past two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 18th of February 2006 at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive in Houston, with a reception to follow at the church. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Can Care of Houston, Inc., 9575 Katy Freeway Suite 428, Houston, Texas 77024.
