J. W. Houston, 78, Dies Here; Funeral to be Held Friday

J. W. (Boss) Houston, 78, died at 3 o'clock this morning in Community Hospital where he had been a patient one day.
Mr. Houston was born in Prairie Hill, lived most of his life in Randolph County and moved to Moberly in 1942. He was a former postmaster at Cairo. At the time of his death, he made his home with his sister, Mrs. W. C. Stigall, 323 South Fifth street.
He was a member of Central Christian Church.
His wife, the former Miss Nell Lamb, died June 28, 1940.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Stigall and Mrs. E. G. McCrary, Moberly, and a nephew, A. J. Houston, Kansas City.
The body is at Cater Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon by the Rev. A. E. Landolt, pastor of Central Christian Church.
Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery, north of Cairo.
