STRYKER - Gladys M. Carlin, 91, of Stryker, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at the home of her daughter, near Defiance.
Born May 2, 1913, at Mark Center, to Amelia (Smith) and John Elser, she married Russel G. Carlin on April 18, 1934, and he preceded her in death in 1996.
She had worked at the Ohio Art Company in Bryan and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bryan.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James (Beverly) Brown of Defiance, Mrs. Donald (Elaine) Lethers of Defiance and Mrs. Russell (Connie) Cramer of West Unity; a son, Gene (and wife, Ivyl) Carlin of Stryker; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Frieda Lipp of Defiance; and a brother, Glenn Elser of Ney.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Harold; two brothers, Guy and Clifford Elser; and three sisters, Mildred Kimpel, Ethel Obenland and Mary Partee.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. in the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. John MacFarlane to officiate. Interment will follow in the Shiffler Cemetery in Pulaski.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Bryan or Hospice of Defiance County
