EVANS, MYRON CLAIR (1895 - 1981)
Clair M. Evans, 86, of 24 Park Circle, died Feb. 10, 1981 in the Wellsville Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness. Born in Angelica on Jan. 11, 1895, he was a son of Daniel S. and Emma Wafler Evans. Married Miss Grace Hooker, Nov. 19, 1919, in Olean. Mr. Evans was a graduate of Alfred Agriculture and
Technical College, class of 1915. He was a member of the Angelica United Methodist Church, where he had served on various commissions. He was also a former member and past Master of the Angelica Grange 1087; member of the Angelica Sunset Club; Angelica Booster Citizens; had served as Town Justice for 36 years and as Village Justice for 16 years. He had also served as treasurer of the Allegany County Agricultural Society for several years. He was a former member of the advisory board of the First Trust Union Bank of Angelica. Survivors: widow; daughter, Mrs. Peter (Margaret) Gibbore of Endicott, N.Y.; a son, Jack C. Evans of Wellsville; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild, a sister, Miss Nora Evans of Angelica; and several nieces and nephews. Lot 923.
