SELMA--Margaret Josephine Bailey, 83, formerly of Selma and more recently of Muncie Health Care Center, died today in Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.
A lifelong Delaware County resident, she was born in Selma, graduated from Selma High School and attended Ball State Teachers College (now Ball State University). She was a teacher in Liberty Township schools from 1928 until her retirement in 1965.
She was a member of Selma United Methodist Church, and during World War II she was a Red Cross volunteer.
Survivors include two brothers, Ira Bailey, Selma, and John Bailey, Wakefield, R.I.; and several nieces and nephews.
Four brothers preceded her in death.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel, Muncie. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie. Calling will be 5-8 p.m Thursday at the mortuary.
