Clarence Groutage

Clarence Louis Groutage, 81, of Rock Springs, died Aug. 16 after a sudden illness.

He was born June 14, 1921, in Hanna, the son of Winfred and Clara Ross Groutage. He married Olga L. Pedri in 1959 in Rock Springs.

He attended school in Winton and graduated from Reliance High School with the class of 1940. He had been employed for many years as an auto body repairman with Excelsior Motors until he retired in 1986.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served during WWII. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His interests were working on cars and visiting with all his friends.

Survivors include is wife of Rock Springs; one sister, Edith Moore of Concord, Calif.; sisters-in-law Florence Motto of Fort Collins, Colo. and Katharine Groutage of Vancouver, Wash.; brother-in-law, Wayne Pedri of Rock Springs; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Joseph, Fred, James, Melvin, Ralph, and Earl Groutage and one sister, Lavona Wooden.

Funeral services were today at Aspen Mountain LDS Ward. Interment with military honors was in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
