In 1886 Daniel Trent invested in a bank in Brownwood, Texas and in 1888 he established a bank in Goldthwaite. He was a Methodist.

Pioneer Ranchman Dies at Goldthwaite
Goldthwaite, Texas, Nov 22 - Daniel H. Trent, 88, died at his residence here yesterday morning, after an illness of several months. He had formerly lived in San Saba and Llano counties, but had resided in Mills county for more than forty years.
Trent was a pioneer ranchman of Fisher county, a pioneer banker of Brown county, and a pioneer banker and cattleman of Mills county. He established the first bank of Mills county.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, w. H. Trent, and D. Albert Trent, of Goldthwaite and Howard Trent of El Paso; and three daughters, Mrs. W. H. Thompson of Brownwood, Mrs. F. H. Lindsey and Mrs. Ida B. Robinson of El Paso, Goldthwaite Lodge No 694, A. F. & A. M. will conduct funeral services Wednesday. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Fort Worth, Tex, Nov 22, 1921
