He was a son of the Henry(#4) Trent of VA, who moved across GA, AL, MS and LA, ending up in the Choctaw Nation in AR. His mother may have been a Miss ?? Lloyd-Loyd of GA. We do know that -he was one of three administrators of his father’s Estate as Henry(#4) did not leave a Will... that we know of...

-John W. (Sr.) seems to have served in the War of 1812, there is a pension record, but I have not seen it. He is listed in the Sheriff’s census’s of 1823-29 he is listed as being in Washington Co., AR -he will apparently, according to the Land Grant records, be one of the original land owners in Mills Co., TX as a survey and block grant #952 was is on file at the county court house and with the Texas Land Office in Austin, TX. He is listed in the 1850 Williamson Co., TX census as 41, can't read or write. In the 1860 census he and wife Jane Connor's and family are in Burnet Co., TX and then apparently John W. (Sr.) dies before the 1870 TX census.... Does any know know of any more details on him.....thanks!! Oh, he also was a brother to (Rev.) Josiah Trent (b.ca.1802)(d.3-26-1877) who provides a family line that goes back to NC, and has a future descendant Dr. Josiah C.(harles) "Joe" Trent, M.D. who md. into the Simpson Family and thus is connected to the DUKE Family of NC and DUKE U. of NC.
