Mrs. Sarah C Mickley, 87, widow of Mervin O Mickley, died at her home in Franklin township near Cashtown, Monday evening at 7:30 from the effects of a stroke suffered Monday morning.
She was born and always resided in Adams County, a daughter of the late Peter and Nancy Dillon Adams, and was the last of her family. She lived in the house in which she died since her marriage in 1875. The deceased was a member of St. Ignatius’ Catholic church, Buchanan Valley. Her husband died in
January 1939.
Surviving are eight children; Miss Cora Mickley, Gettysburg; Miss Mae Mickley, Philadelphia;
Mrs. C. N. Hartman, Aspinwall; Robert E Mickley, McKnightstown; Mrs. J C Mulhern, Wilmington, California; Roy A Mickley, Orrtanna; John O Mickley, Philadelphia and Mrs. A F Derringer, Millvale;
22 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning, meeting at the Bender funeral home at 8:30 with a high mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic church conducted by the Rev. Fr. Mark E Stock. Interment in Flohr’s cemetery.
