Cleo McDonald Massey, 89, of Omega, died Monday, April 25, 2011, at Unihealth in Moultrie.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m., on Thursday, April 28, at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in The Sumner Cemetery.

She was born on Jan. 10, 1922, to the late Bob Washington and Lena Davis McDonald. She lived in Worth County most of her life, and retired from Warner Manufacturing Co., and was also formerly employed with Ivey Manufacturing Co., in Moultrie. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, the adult Sunday School Class, taught Sunday School and played the piano. She enjoyed fishing, softball, gardening and cooking, her family said.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Massey on Nov. 23, 1998; and a son, John Larry Massey on Oct. 5, 1963.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara M. Cook and husband Carl of Doerun; sons, Bobby Massey of Norman Park and Danny Massey and wife Barbara of Omega; sisters, Boots Goodwin of Adel, Ga., and Geneva Jones of Sylvester, Ga.; brothers, Theophilus McDonald, Bobby Junior McDonald, Jimmy McDonald and Tony McDonald, all of Sylvester, Ga.; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
