Charles Melvin Brown Sr., 59, of Meridian, Butler R.D. 7 died at 11:30 a.m. yesterday in the Butler county memorial Hospital.

Born in Beaver County, Mr. Brown was the son of John and (Bertha) Hartzell Brown. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Butler.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Caldwell Brown; four daughters, Mrs. Doris Sutton of Niles, O., Mrs. Betty Lou Vozar of Freeport Road, Mrs. Bernice Hepfl of Meridian, and Barbara Carol Brown at home; two sons, Charles Melvin Brown Jr. at home and John P. Brown of Butler; five sisters, Mrs. Venus Protzman of Butler R.D. 3, Mrs. Wilda Luton, Mrs. Ethel Stubbs, and Mrs. Bertha A. Rape, all of Ashtabula, O.; and Mrs. Myrtle Mazzanti of San Antonio, Tex.; and six grandchildren.

Friends of Charles Melvin Brown Sr., of Meridian, Butler R.D. 7, who died Monday, Dec. 23, 1957, will be received at the Thompson-Paul funeral Home Tuesday and Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday from the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenawalt (Gruenwald)Cemetery.
