John Edward Brown, 81, of Butler R.D. 3, died at 4:45 a.m. today. The son of John C. and Catherine Cole Brown, he was born in Allegheny County and resided in Butler County for many years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bertha Hartzel Brown; a son, Charles M. Brown of Butler R.D. 7; five daughters, Mrs. Wilda Lutton, Mrs. Ethel Stubbs, and Mrs. Bertha Rape, all of Ashtabula, Oh.; Mrs. Venus Protzman, Butler R.D. 3 and Mrs. Myrtle Mazzanti, of San Anotnio; two brothers, Bert Brown, of Ellwood City and Joseph Brown of Ashtabula; a sister, Mrs. Wilda Nye, of Portersville; 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Friends of John Edward Brown, of Butler R.D. 3 who died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1954, will be received at the Thompson funeral Home, E. North McKean St., Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Funeral services will be held Tuesday from the funeral home. Burial will be made in Greenawalt (Gruenwald) Cemetery.
