"Link" Pinson Of Edina Died Saturday; Burial Sunday; Ten Children Left

A. L. Pinson, Alonzo, or "Link," of Edina, 77 years old and a native of Knox County, died at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Aug. 18, 1956, at the hospital here. He had been a patient at the hospital since June 23, when he was brought here from Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, after being there since June 5, thus making eight weeks he had been confined to hospitals.

The body was taken to the Hudson Funeral Home and remained there until Sunday afternoon. The funeral services were conducted at 1 o'clock by the Rev. t. W. Stark, pastor, at the Assembly of God Church here, of which Mr. Pinson was a member. Burial was in Linville Cemetery.

Five sons and five daughters survive, also 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The children are: Albert, R., Paul C., Edwin C., Marion, LeRoy and Robert R. Pinson, and Mary B., Mrs. Emmett Whitmire and Letha L., Mrs. Perley Thompson, and Alma R., Mrs. Delbert Clary, of Edina; Mildred, Mrs. Burley Green, of Hollydale, Calif., and Leona M., Mrs. Harold Slane, Portland, Ore. Three brothers, Mose, or Francis Marion, and Pearl Pinson, Edina, and Joe Pinson, Novelty, also survive.

Mr. Pinson was born Jan. 6, 1879, a son of Lazeras V. and Mary E. Barnhill Pinson. He engaged in farming until he retired a few years ago. He was married in Edina, Sept. 23, 1904, to Miss Ora N. Ross, who died May 6, 1953.
