Marion LeRoy Pinson, 77, of Edina, MO, passed away February 5, 2003, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.
He was born August 8, 1925 in Edina, MO, the son of Alonzo Lincoln and Ora Natilee (Ross) Pinson.
On February 14, 1954, in Edina, MO, he was untied in marriage to Mary Jane Day.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane of Edina, MO; one daughter, Lois Huchteman and husband, Daryl of Edina, MO; two grandsons, Jared and Jason Ingalls; one step-grandson, Corey Huchteman; one brother, Robert R. Pinson of Edina, MO; three sisters, Letha Lucille Thompson of Edina, MO, Leona Marie Slane and husband, Harold of Portland, OR, and Alma Rosalie Clary of Troy, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth Lee "Kenny" Pinson; brothers, Edwin Campbell Pinson, Paul Cooper Pinson, and Albert Ross Pinson; two sisters, Mary Whitmire and Mildred Dorothy Green.
LeRoy was a life-long resident of Edina, MO, where he attended school. During his junior year he was called into military service during World War II with the United States Army. LeRoy was a very successful entrepreneur and was well respected. He was in the trucking business with his brother, Bob, sold livestock and owned the Phillips 66 Service Station in Edina for a number of years. LeRoy, together with Delbert Hawkins, started the Farm and Home Supply store in Edina, which grew to Kirksville and Memphis, MO; he was still a partner of the Kirksville and Memphis stores. He was also currently a partner of the Edina Livestock, L.L.C.
LeRoy was a member of the Edina Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed and had a love for cattle and working with them, but most of all he enjoyed his family and friends.
Funeral services were held February 9, 2003, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend David Howald, assisted by Reverend Gerry Bass, officiated the services. Music was provided by Karen Stone, soloist, and Ed Anderson, organist. Burial was in the Linville Cemetery at Edina, MO. Casket bearers were Larry Clark, David Clark, Harley Hamlin, Gale Gordon, Kevin Strange, and Ray Prebe. An expression of sympathy in memory of LeRoy Pinson may be made to the Linville Cemetery.
